How to install amazon Quick linker widget into Joomla 1.5

If you want to monetize your website with Amazon the easy way you can include the Quick linker widget into your Joomla 1.5 pretty easy.

Here are the steps. I just assume you are already have an associates (affiliate) account with amazon.com or .co.uk or one of the countries they are in.

Sign into amazon associates and hover your mouse over the topmenu bar where it says “Links and Banners”. The pull down menu pops up and click on “Quick Linker”

 

On the next screen click on “Add to my

Webpage” and copy the generatedscript into your Joomla      1.5’s “Index.php”    file before the </body> at the bottom.

(I use Notepad++ as an editor because it’s really easy to use and you can open all your website files in it being that a php or css or html.)

Once you have the script copied into Joomla, just save it and you are ready to go.  Go to Content/Article Manager and create a new article and where ever you want a word linked to an amazon product, just type in this code

<a type=amzn >Harry Potter</a>. Replacing “Harry Potter” with whatever word you want to use. That word will become a link to the products page on Amazon. (You have to switch to html mode in your editor to type in the code) -just click on the “html” button on the editor’s toolbar-

Say your article is about Garlic Ice Cream. This is what you do.

<a type=amzn >garlic ice cream</a> so those words will become links and when people click on the link and amazon has a product such as garlic ice cream or ice cream or related,
they’ll be taken to that page and if they buy, you make some commission.
