Although there is a major smear campaign is under way lately to try and stop importing dogs from Europe into the UK, because the UK breeders are loosing too much money.
When you are looking for puppies for sale, there is no reason to pay £2,000-£6,000 thousand pounds for a sickly dog, like a French or an English bulldog, when you can buy an imported dog that eventually is exactly is the same and even healthier, for half as much money.
Before a dog can be imported into the UK it has to go through a rigorous VET check and also have to have a Microchip implanted. have to have a rabies vaccination, worm treatment and a complete VET check and than it has only 120 hours to cross the border before some of that treatment expires and have to be done again.
Most of the pups coming from Europe into the UK grow up in their natural environment usually on a smaller farmette. They are running and rolling and chasing birds or chickens, building up a complete immune system in the process that can withstand many adversities in their later life.
Growing up in a natural environment versus in the living room has many benefits. The immune system gets much stronger, the puppy will be healthier for years to come, happy memories, appreciating and enjoying life.
I see many depressed dogs and their owners while walking my dogs in the park. Short leash, no running, not looking around, not getting excited by seeing another dog. Going home, sitting on the sofa and sleeping all day long, because no one is around to play with. What a dog life that is. Really healthy for any dog. Right?

Price wise they are cheaper to buy and much cheaper to maintain as they are going to have less trips to the vet.
So, discriminate and go ahead if you want and get one of them expensive, but not as healthy dogs or get one of the cheap puppies that are healthy.
