Internet marketing and it’s pitfalls

With the economy getting worse and worse due to evolutionary reasons, many people are turning to the internet to try to make money. Sooner or later they all fall into the email trap.

The email trap is when they come upon a website that do some sort of internet marketing and has an opt in page. That is where the unsuspecting future IM (internet marketing) wannabe will write his/her email address in, to get the information from that particular website.

With that an avalanche of emails will arrive into their mailbox. All promising riches and touting the owner or one of his her friend is making a 100,000 thousand or 15,000 thousand or whatever daily or weekly or monthly. Of course these are all doctored results meaning, it was just made up for the emails sake or it’s someone else’s results.

Most of these emails will start with something like this “my good friend such and such allowed me to tell you about his….”  or  ” I had to twist my good buddys – such and such- arms to get this info for you”. These are nothing but fishing and come on  emails to get you to a website where a long long sales letter (squeeze page it’s called) is waiting for you.

Most people just scroll to the end to see how much it would cost to get the stuff but some might reads it.  If you decide to buy it, you will get an ebook or PDF  document telling you what and how to make money with that particular money making scheme. Most of them are total B***s to tell you the truth. The ones that are making big money will never tell you all their secret. They also have membership sites where you have to pay every month in order to become a member and get some information that is carefully released.

Most membership sites are a waste of money as the info is either inferior or it’s siphoned off of the web. So you should check out the forum if they have one and make your own judgement. Some of them are good and if you find one you should stick with that site.

Other pitfalls of IM (internet marketing) is Information Overload.

In your search for riches you will find more and more websites offering even more or easier ways to make money and you opt in to their emails. Now you are getting much more emails and much more info. Selecting trough them and trying to read them, sooner or later you are starting to get confused and frustrated. Might even get a headache.

Finally you are all fed up with all that and decide you are going to make a website.  After carefully selecting the niche and the name, buying the domain name and the hosting, you build your site but those riches stays away from your site for some reason. You are trying to figure out what are you doing wrong and read even more.

By this time perhaps months had passed and either your patience or your money is running out and you give up. If you are happened to be unemployed and that was the reason behind your making money on the internet venture, now you are facing a situation of looking for a job in a depressed state of mind, because of failure after failure with your website.

Don’t worry, most of the owners of those websites and opt in emails you had signed up with are in the same situation. They’ve tried it for a while and now they are looking for a job too, to make money.

Trying to make money with Internet Marketing is not easy. Involves a lot of learning and perseverance. You have to have a passion towards it and keep pounding it until you see some results. It might takes years to make it successful but if you keep on going you might succeed and you can always try some of these…..
