Houston, We Have a Sale!
That’s what companies wants right? Well, not in the UK. Friend of mine has a personal shopping service in Hungary. She doesn’t speak english, yet all of her purchases are from the UK. She holds a visa credit card issued by a hungarian bank.
VISA. Supposed to be accepted worldwide by who knows how many millions of outfits. Well, Not in England. Some of the UK retailers (online) would not accept the VISA card of hers. Why? Because it is issued in a different country than the one where she wants to use it. Weird huh? I don’t know if Visa agree with this philosophy or it’s up to the companies.
Like Next for an example. LaRedoute is another one, several others that I don’t remember right now. This woman orders thousands of items per month on the internet for her customers in Hungary regardless of these hurdles. Other major UK retailers like Sports Direct, Mother Care, George, Marks&Spencer etc, has no trouble accepting it.
The UK economy is in deep trouble. The retailers are cutting back on advertising and staff and closing stores. Why not make it easier for customers to shop? How easy would it be to follow those that has a more open policy towards using credit cards online and make more sales online.
I agree scams are possible but scam are possible in the tightest environment. Prisoners escape from high security prisons yet they are not supposed to be able. In business the customer is the one dictates the terms. If a business rather stick with their rigid or outdated tactics and policies I think they deserve to loose sales.
Undoubtedly, one of the best article l have come across on this precious topic. I quite agree with your conclusions and will eagerly look forward to your coming updates.

Hi – very good web site you have established. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to issue a comment to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically pleasing. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor in chief for a marketing firm. I have always enjoyed playing with information processing systems and am attempting to learn code in my spare time (which there is never enough of lol).
I like that site layout . How was it made. It’s so nice!
You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
