City Link Parcel Delivery Service Not Recommended
In lieu of my recent experience with <a title="City Link" href="City%20Link” target=”_blank”>City Link Parcel Delivery forces me to write this not recommended article to warn others of the service’s inadequacies.
This was my first dealing with City Link in the UK ever. I have never used them before and never will in the future. Not because they don’t deserve a second chance, but because the way they have handled my parcel.
I have a package forwarding service where people can send what ever they buy online and forward them to what ever address they give me. I am also working together with parcel delivery companies, that delivers packages between the UK and foreign countries, but not inside the UK. This one particular package was left on the truck by mistake and we usually have a local UK parcel delivery service deliver them to the UK address and this is how I came in contact with City Link.
When one searching for parcel delivery companies in the UK on the web, City Link parcel delivery is one of the first that comes up on the page.
I’ve decided to use City Link delivery service as they are offering a next day delivery before 12 pm delivery service and the package was quite urgent to send. To send parcels with these companies, the orders usually have to be placed the day before you want them to deliver your parcel.
I did just that and the van came and collected the package I was sending. Sloppy work from the beginning, because he didn’t have a scanner on him, not even a piece of paper to gave me as a receipt.
Some other companies do the same thing and my packages had always arrived without any trouble. So I was not worried too much especially since I’ve asked the man and he said “he will put the label on himself”. (good thing I pasted the delivery address on the package)
The next day came when the parcel was supposed to be delivered, but when I entered the tracking code I was given after my online ordering of the service, it said “can not be found” .
Bummer. I had a “live chat” with someone on the website and he said he is gonna let me know as soon as he finds out something. A couple of hours later he had sent me an email saying “no record of the depot receiving my parcel“. He also said they are overloaded with work, because of the Christmas season.
So, I’ve decided to call them instead of the “live chat”. I was on the phone listening to music for 15 minutes before somebody answered the phone. The lady promised she’ll call me back as soon as she finds out something.
Regardless of the result I am not going to use City Link parcel delivery anymore and I would not recommend them to anyone. Why?
- Because if you are sending a timed parcel for premium price, you expect it to be there on time.
- Also because in the past I have used other services and never ever had any trouble with delivery
- and because of the way they have handled my parcel
If this has happened with me, I wonder how many other people had the same bad experience with City Link?
I should have hired the company I regularly deal with, but they only offer next day service and not -before 12pm service and the parcel had to arrive before 12pm.
Now I am not even sure if it gets there today at all or even tomorrow.
My advice is to would be City Link users, to watch out and use someone else.
