Ebay is what it is. A corner store that is trying to drum up buyers by guaranteeing them what they think they bid on will they get. Ebay buyer guarantee started in 2013 and already costing sellers tons of money.
As for the sellers as usual up the ass one more time, just like when they canceled the buyers feedback that warned sellers of the integrity (or rather lack of) of the buyer. Getting rid of buyers feedback keeps sellers in the dark of who they are dealing with, but opens plenty of scam opportunities for the unscrupulous “buyers”.
Recently I’ve listed two USED electrical items on fleabay that has built in batteries and after the buyers getting it complained and opened a dispute of not as described, because they are not holding charge as a brand new item. They thought they are getting a -like brand new- for the price of a used one.
So this shows how backfiring ebay’s new guarantee policy. A bunch of idiot buyers thinking they are going to get a brand new item when it’s clearly stated in the listing as USED.
These idiots are expecting something that is brand new for the price of a used and ebay totally co-operating with them and helping them in their false beliefs. How charming is that from FleaBay to screw sellers. Of course they don’t have buyers, because sellers are looking for other venues to sell their stuff, reducing the merchandise available on Ebay.
One can’t have buyers if there are no sellers. No quality merchandise, but many bazaar stuff that every street market has.
Shareholders are pounding ebay’s doors for profit, but if you screw your source and side with the buyer only, you are not going to have merchandise. Of course there are still millions of items on ebay and will be for a long time to come, but their margin not going to show a robust growth as in the past, because sellers don’t trust it anymore.
Too many ebay buyer scams are going on on ebay. Buyers bidding on items and after getting it send it back, because they were just curious of what it looks like, how it works, how it feels, etc and never intended to keep it to begin with. They get their money back, checked out the item and now screw the seller with their pitianer games who have to bear the cost.
This is one of the reason high street stores have high prices too. Buyers buying online for purely curiosity and send it back after trying it on.
The internet opened the gates for scam online buyers who does nothing but cost a fortune for the industry.
Ebay scam is widespread but not because of the sellers, but because of the buyers. Most sellers are honest. However there are more and more ebay buyers scamming the ebay sellers.
Actually Ebay just widened the gap for buyer scammers which will reduce the number of sellers. How? A buyer now can get away with pretty much anything on ebay and all they have to do is to claim they have not received the item. Ebay will refund their money out of your pocket and they get to keep what ever they’ve bought. Or not as described and after checking it out, playing with it for a couple of days, file a dispute claiming not as described and demand their money back.
This is one of the reasons many ebay, Amazon sellers and Many stores from the UK aren’t shipping to Eastern Europe and to some of the Southern countries. Too many parcels were “lost” in the post and no way to prove otherwise.
Now with ebay guaranteeing -if you don’t receive what you thought you’ve bought we’ll give your money back, will increase the number of false by purchases several folds.
